{Word Art}

I was so excited to choose one word to sum up my goals for this year. The word I chose is "WillPower". I decided to make this Wordle type canvas artwork of my word and I now have it hanging in my craft room where it can be a daily reminder of what I am working on this year.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out. Here's how you make it:
Buy an inexpensive canvas at your local craft or art store. The one I used is 14 x 18. Make or buy letter stencils of different sizes. I used my Cricket and some sturdy white cardstock to make my word in different sizes.
I arranged my words on the canvas in a way that was pleasing to my eye.
Then I adhered the letters to the canvas. This is the tricky part because you need to be able to put them on with something that will not be permanent. I would use a Zyron for best results but since my Zyron machine was out I did use scrapbooking tape and it worked just fine.
Make sure your letters are pressed down really good and then spray paint your canvas.
Now, I wanted to do black and white because I knew that would "pop" in my craft room but you can make this thing whatever color you want. If you don't want the letters white then paint your canvas one color, put the letters on and spray it another color. Options are endless.
I did want some design on some of my larger words and letters so I took a black ink pad and a favorite background stamp. Using the discarded cut outs from the letter stencils I put them back over the words and stamped a pretty design. I love it because it just adds the right amount of dimension that I wanted.
So cute!
After I stamped what I wanted all that was left was to hang it.
Enjoy!
If you make one I sure would like to visit yours:)
